The FA
A founder member of the UEFA and world football governing body FIFA, the UK based Football Association created the FA Cup championship in 1871. As of today, the FA Cup is the longest-running major football competition and forms one part of the coveted treble for English clubs.
The FA also holds a permanent seat on the International Football Association Board (IFAB). It is responsible for the appointment of the management of the England men’s and women’s national teams. All English professional football teams are members of the FA.
The associations committed is total – to promoting the development of the game amongst all ages, backgrounds and abilities in terms of participation and quality. This also involves promoting the reach of the sport to the greatest possible number of people.
